Overview

Hosted by Betsy and Paul, highly regarded leadership and personal introspection experts, The Breakout Room is a podcast that thrives on raw, unfiltered conversations. The challenge was to develop a brand identity that reflected the spontaneous yet insightful nature of the podcast while maintaining a polished, engaging presence. After receiving a branding identity from another party that didn't quite resonate with the clients, they turned to me with only one week left before the deadline to execute. Thus, the project required a fast, strategic approach to ensure high-quality results on a tight timeline.

The Challenge

The brand identity needed to feel vibrant and personal while maintaining a sense of professionalism. The visuals had to reflect the spontaneity of real breakout room conversations while also reinforcing the podcast’s deeper themes of self-discovery and personal growth. The identity needed to come together quickly without sacrificing quality or creativity.

The Solution

I developed a bold and flexible brand identity that mirrors the podcast’s dynamic and candid nature. The visuals feel spontaneous yet structured, while the messaging highlights the idea of navigating personal growth through open and unscripted conversations. The combination of breakout room elements and wayfinding imagery creates a distinct, memorable aesthetic. It was important that the look and feel demonstrated that the hosts did not take themselves too seriously and that there was time for fun, reflection, and meaningful conversation in equal measure.

The Result

The new identity immediately sets The Breakout Room apart. The podcast now has a distinct and engaging presence that feels as personal and unscripted as its conversations. The project’s success highlights that visually outspoken and unique brand identities are able to be developed under limited timeframes if there is a focussed effort in delivering results.
